India Showcases Defence Strength at Eurosatory 2026 as Exports Surge to Record High
India has showcased its growing defence capabilities at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, with 31 entities displaying advanced indigenous systems including the MArG-39, Pinaka rocket and Rudram missile. The participation comes as India's defence exports reached a record Rs 38,424 crore in FY 2025-26, marking a significant rise in global defence presence.
India's defence industry has made a powerful impression at Eurosatory 2026, the world's largest exhibition dedicated to land and air-land defence and security systems. The prestigious event, being held from June 15 to June 18 at the Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre near Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, has attracted more than 2,000 exhibitors from 61 countries, highlighting the latest advancements in global defence and security technologies.
The exhibition features a comprehensive range of defence products, including tanks, armoured vehicles, small arms, communication systems, logistics solutions, simulation technologies, operational medical equipment and disaster response capabilities. Against this backdrop, India has emerged as one of the prominent participants, reflecting the country's growing influence in the international defence sector.
A total of 31 Indian entities, including the Ministry of Defence, are participating in the event. Leading organisations such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, Tonbo Imaging, SMPP, Bharat Electronics Limited, MKU Ltd, Ashoka Manufacturing, Armoured Vehicles Limited and Mech Components are presenting their advanced defence technologies and capabilities. Their participation underscores India's determination to establish itself as a trusted supplier of sophisticated defence systems while strengthening industrial partnerships with global stakeholders.
Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited has brought its MArG-39 artillery system to Paris and is displaying it at the exhibition. The Defence Research and Development Organisation is showcasing several advanced indigenous platforms, including the Pinaka Long-Range Guided Rocket, the Very Short Range Air Defence System, the Advanced Lightweight Torpedo and the Rudram Anti-Radiation Missile, along with other defence technologies. Several Indian companies are also exhibiting ammunition systems, electro-optical solutions and protective equipment.
India's expanding presence at Eurosatory comes at a time when the country's defence exports have reached an all-time high. Defence exports climbed to Rs 38,424 crore during the financial year 2025-26, representing a remarkable increase of 62.66 per cent compared to the previous year.
Defence Public Sector Undertakings contributed Rs 21,071 crore to the export total, registering an extraordinary growth of 151 per cent. Private sector companies accounted for Rs 17,353 crore, recording a 14 per cent increase. The strong contribution from both public and private sectors highlights the growing strength and maturity of India's defence manufacturing ecosystem.
India now exports defence equipment and technologies to more than 80 countries. The number of defence exporters has also increased significantly, rising from 128 to 145 within a year, further integrating Indian defence products into global supply chains and expanding the country's international reach.
India's strong participation at Eurosatory 2026 reflects the increasing global acceptance of its defence platforms and validates the success of its defence export strategy. Supported by government initiatives and private sector innovation, the country is steadily advancing towards its objective of becoming one of the world's leading defence exporters while reinforcing its position as a reliable partner in international defence cooperation.
